Hi! I’m Camryn.
My journey in design has not always been straightforward. I have two passions in life – Packaging Design and Gymnastics Coaching. I know those two things don’t seem to go together, but the more I reflect on the past four years of my life, I realize they are more related than I thought. As I entered college, retiring from my own gymnastics career, I knew I didn't want to give up gymnastics. I began coaching the next generation of gymnasts, mostly under the age of five. Communicating with, and creating ways to teach small children is not unlike communicating on packaging:
• A great idea can go a long way, you just have to be skilled enough to execute it.
• You must be confident in everything you say, and truly believe in everything you create.
• You must be patient above all else, and trust the process you learned from others.
• And at the end of the day, what makes it all worthwhile, is knowing you will have a positive
impact on those around you.
That is why I do what I do, in both of my paths in life. Whether it’s making a difference in a child’s life, or creating designs that will tell a great brand story, I can make an impact on the world we live in. A fellow designer once described me as an “ideas-person”, and I knew immediately that’s where my strengths lie. Packaging design allows me to take my ideas and effectively communicate a brand story out to the world!
