I grew up in Venezuela and came to study design in New York City. Making the move has helped me learn to be independent, open-minded, and active in a diverse environment. This has enabled me to grow as a creative person, but I am still deeply affected by what is happening in my country. Venezuela has two sides: chaotic and quiet. I have experienced both – the dictatorship and corruption of the government, and the calm, natural beauty of the mountains and seaside. My design aesthetic comes from two sides as well – my shy personality, and my dismay about the situation in my country. My design reflects this – simple, minimalistic, yet unorthodox, and marketable.
