Through simple mark-making, I embody my Chamorro ancestors who once drew pictographs on limestone rocks to tell their stories. Likewise, I have a propensity to make expressive illustrations and patterns—a passion I bring into my work. Growing up around trees in Washington state, close to water, and with mountains in the distance, I have a great appreciation of my natural surroundings. I see nature as my wisest teacher and an ancestor to protect. My visible identity as a Pacific Islander woman has propelled me to recognize the significance and interconnectedness of environmental stewardship, diversity and equity, and cultural preservation. In addition to these values, I am a thoughtful and proactive team member, seeking to uplift design projects and communities.
I thrive on design that considers, celebrates and connects.
