Growing up my grandma used to tell me everything fits and works if you just figure out the right way to arrange all the elements, or “todo cabe en un jarrito sabiéndolo acomodar.”
Being, as I call it, Mexican-Gringa, and having grown up in a life full of contrasts in Mexico City, it was hard to understand where I fit. However this in between taught me resourcefulness and to see the world in different shades of grey; I value the solutions that can be found in this no-man’s land I call home. I don’t think I’ve figured out where I fit, but I’ve found a way of organizing all the elements that make up me and I take advantage of this in between in my creative process by mixing humanitarian design, aesthetics, and sustainability — in the end all can be achieved if we just find the right way to arrange it.
